Directly provided: name, email, institutional affiliation, position, tax ID/business registration (when required for administrative formalities), captions/descriptions and upload metadata (location, date, time, device, recording method).
Submitted content: audio files, annotations, labels, associated photos, transcriptions and scientific metadata.
Usage data: IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, time spent, interaction events and access logs.
Cookies and similar technologies (described in the Cookie Policy).
Sensitive data: we do not intentionally request sensitive data. If received by mistake, it will be treated with special measures and, where possible, deleted.
Make available, organize and preserve the bioacoustics collection.
Authenticate users and manage accounts (registration, password recovery).
Enable upload, download and file sharing according to permissions.
Communication with users (account notifications, updates, moderation, collaboration invitations).
Research, statistical analysis and improvement of the Platform (in aggregate/anonymous form when possible).

Account data and files are kept as long as the account exists or as required by applicable law. Publicly submitted data may remain until removal is requested or according to the license terms chosen by the data subject.
Logs and backups may be kept for additional periods for security and compliance reasons.
We adopt reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction; however, no system is infallible; we recommend security practices on the part of users (strong passwords, care when sharing credentials).
